Athersley splits in two. Athersley North sits around Lindhurst Road. Athersley South is closer to Wakefield Road at Smithies. Both are a short run north of our Cheapside base, about 2 miles, and both are easy to confuse if the quote only says Athersley.
Housing is mostly semis and terraces with on-street parking. A van can usually stop if neighbours’ cars are not tight to the door. Maisonettes need the stair width, the same as a flat in town. Roundhouse Library on Laithes Crescent is the local landmark we use when the street name is unclear.
