The old version of this page promised a top three for pizza. We are not going to invent that list or paste reviews we do not hold. On move night you need food, a clean place to eat it, and a bin bag. That is enough.
Before the van leaves the old house
Put plates you can spare, a knife, salt and a roll of kitchen paper in the car. Pack napkins. The takeaway can be eaten from the box, but a drink and a bin still matter. If you have children, pack something you know they will eat even if an order is late.
Check that the new street is one a driver can find. New-build plot numbers and houses with no visible number catch delivery riders as well as removal vans. Leave a porch light on.
How to choose on the night
Look at places that deliver to the new postcode, then check opening times and a current food hygiene rating on the Food Standards Agency site. Ignore league tables on random blogs, including any older copy of this one. Allergy information should come from the shop, not from memory.
Town-centre collection can be quicker than delivery if you are in Barnsley town centre and you still have a car. In Worsbrough and other neighbourhoods, delivery is often simpler when you are too tired to go back out.
The move itself is booked as house removals. Order dinner after you know the unload will finish, not for the minute the van is due. Completions slip.
